“In Our Son’s Name” screening and discussion – Brookline, MA
November 9, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
In Our Son’s Name will be screened at the 30th annual Boston Jewish Film Festival at 12:00pm on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline, Massachusetts.
In Our Son’s Name tells the story of Gregory Ernesto Rodriguez, 31, who was killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
After his death, his parents, Phyllis and Orlando Rodríguez, began a journey of reconciliation that transformed their lives — beginning with Phyllis forming a deep friendship with the mother of 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui. From speaking out against war, to publicly opposing the death penalty for Moussaoui, to meeting with inmates at Sing Sing, Phyllis and Orlando seek a path that speaks to values they shared with Greg, getting to know their son, and each other, in new ways.
After the screening, there will be a discussion with Greg’s parents and sister, moderated by Rabbi Barbara Penzner.
The 2015 film is 64 minutes long.
Tickets cost $18.00 for adults and $16.00 for students, seniors and members, and can be purchased here.
