House Judiciary Committee Hearing on Reauthorizing 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund – Washington D.C. and online

The House Judiciary Committee will hold a September 11th Victim Compensation Fund hearing on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 10:00am. The hearing will focus on the need to reverse the cuts made in claims and to permanently reauthorize the VCF to ensure that coverage will continue to be available to those rescue and recovery workers, survivors, and Lower Manhattan residents who become sick with certified 9/11 illnesses in the future.

Witnesses will include – Rupa Bhattacharyya, Special Master, September 11th Victim Compensation Fund; Jacqueline Moline, MD Occupational Medicine, Epidemiology and Prevention;  Lila Nordstrom, 9/11 survivor (Stuyvesant H.S. student on 9/11); Thomas J. Mohnal, retired FBI Special Agent, and recovery worker; Michael O’Connell, retired Lieutenant, FDNY, recovery worker; Anesta Maria St. Rose Henry, widow of Candidus Henry, recovery worker; and Luis Alvarez, retired NYPD Detective and recovery worker.
