Fundraiser to publish a Japanese translation of the 9/11 Commission Report

May 14, 2021 @ 8:00 am - June 25, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

Kazusada Sumiyama, whose son, Yoichi Sugiyama, 34, of Fuji Bank, was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, is publishing a Japanese translation of the 9/11 Commission Report.

There is a summary of the report available in Japanese, but Mr. Sumiyama, 83, feels a full translation is necessary and, although English is a struggle for him, he completed the work with help from his wife, Mari, and dictionaries. He believes “understanding a society that gave rise to terrorists can end terrorism.”

Mr. Sumiyama is running a crowdfunding campaign to raise publication funding. The campaign continues until June 25, 2021.
