9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Fort Hamilton 6-K Run/Walk for the Fallen

On Saturday, September 13, 2014, runners will meet in Fort Hamilton-Cannon Ball Park to run a 6-kilometer race in memory of those service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Each participant will be permitted to write the name of a fallen service member of their choice on his or her runner’s bib.

Check-in begins at 7:00am and will be held on the park grounds. The run begins promptly at 8:30am.

Participants will be escorted from the park grounds across the street to Shore Road Promenade where the run will begin. Once instructed to begin, participants will run on along this flat surface for 2 miles, turn around at the end (Owl’s Head Pier), and run in the opposite direction to the starting point for the final 2 miles. Water stations will be posted every mile along as will medics to ensure everyone’s safety. Once the run is completed, participants will carefully return to the Park (registration area) for participant medals, bagels, and refreshments
