9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Fireworks near Liberty Island

A notice to residents of Lower Manhattan – as part of the festivities surrounding the Super Bowl, there will be fireworks near Liberty Island tonight, Monday, January 27, 2014, at roughly 8:40pm.
In the event of poor weather conditions, the fireworks will be shown at 8:40pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
Since the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, many residents of Lower Manhattan find unexpected explosions disturbing.
