Fired up for a Cure April Fundraiser
April 1, 2018 @ 8:00 am - April 30, 2018 @ 5:00 pm
The FDNY Bureau of Health Services and the World Trade Center Health Program’s Cancer Awareness & Prevention Initiative Fired up for a Cure is asking that each fire company and EMS station join in a friendly competition and donate $1.00 per member/per meal for the month of April.
At the end of the month, the donations can be sent to FDNY WTC Oncology at MetroTech Center. The company or station contributing the most will be presented with a trophy at the free family picnic on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Fort Totten.
Over the past 4 years, Fired up for a Cure has joined the FDNY Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the Fire Family Transport Foundation, and several other organizations to give families affected by cancer financial and emotional support, as well as hope for a cure. More than $300,000 has been raised to aid in these efforts.
