Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Final flag-waving session of the Freeport Flag Ladies – Freeport, ME

JoAnn Miller, 83, Elaine Greene, 74, and Carmen Footer, 77, better known as the Freeport Flag Ladies, have waved the American flag on Freeport Maine’s Main Street every Tuesday since Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a total of 963 hours.
They also carried the flag at the airport to welcome home returning soldiers and saw them off to war as well.
This year will be their last. The Freeport Flag Ladies are retiring. Their last flag session will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 8:00am to 9:00am on Main and School Streets in Freeport.
They would welcome company.
