FDNY Firefighter John G. Chipura Blood Drive

March 6, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

This year’s FDNY Firefighter John G. Chipura Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Staten Island.

Donating blood is more important than ever, as current blood stores are down 65% from normal supplies, and the need for post-COVID plasma is high. All blood donations will be tested for COVID antibodies. This will confirm for many whether or not you have the antibodies.

If you test positive for antibodies, you can continue to give plasma and help those suffering from COVID-19.

If you donate blood elsewhere, please use group code 69780 and it will be attributed to the John G. Chipura Foundation.

To make an appointment, please visit www.donate.NYBC.org. Please remember to bring ID to your appointment and to eat a meal before donating blood.

FDNY Firefighter John G. Chipura was an NYPD officer and also served his country as a United States Marine before joining the FDNY. He was injured in the 1983 Beirut terrorist attack on Marine barracks, but survived. John was killed while responding to the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
