FDNY Firefighter John G. Chipura Blood Drive – Staten Island, NY

March 5, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

The annual FDNY Firefighter John G. Chipura Blood Drive will be held from 9:00am until 3:00pm on Saturday, March 5, 2021 at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Staten Island.

The drive honors FF John Chipura, who was an NYPD officer and a United States Marine before he joined the FDNY. FF Chipura was injured in the 1983 Beirut terrorist attack on Marine barracks, but survived. He was killed while responding to the 9/11 terrorist attacks twenty years ago.

Donating blood is currently more important than ever, as the city’s blood stores are critically low. The goal this year is to collect 115 pints of blood — enough to save 343 lives.

To make an appointment, please call 800-933-2566 or click here. Please bring ID to your appointment and eat a meal before donating blood.

Extra precautions will be taken to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
