FDNY 343 Ride
September 16, 2018
The eighth annual FDNY 343 Ride will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018. The riders will pedal from the World Trade Center to Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY.
The FDNY members of Engine 50, Ladder 19, and Battalion 26 organized the FDNY 343 Ride, an annual bicycle trip held near the anniversary of 9/11, to honor and remember the 343 members of the FDNY who were murdered in the World Trade Center during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Proceeds raised by the ride go directly to support severely injured veterans who have served in the Armed Forces. The money raised is used to pay for all-terrain wheelchairs, service dogs, medical bills, housing, and numerous other expenses that surface.
Last year, the FDNY 343 Ride produced more than $200,000, and the total amount raised has exceeded $600,000 since the ride began in 2011.
FDNY 343 Ride is a registered 501 c 3 tax-exempt organization. All donations are tax-deductible. The Ride has no employees – all work to arrange the event is done by volunteers. Details about the FDNY 343 Ride can be found here.
