FDNY 343 Ride
September 15, 2013 - September 16, 2013
The third annual FDNY 343 Ride will take place on Monday, September 15, 2013 and Tuesday, September 16, 2013. More than 100 cyclists are expected for the 135-mile journey from the World Trade Center site to Montauk Point Lighthouse on Long Island.
The FDNY 343 Ride was founded in September 2011 to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. The tradition continues to raise funds for military veterans wounded since that day.
The two-day event will begin at 7:00am on Monday, September 15, when New York City firefighters and riders will gather at the National September 11th Memorial to remember their friends who were murdered by terrorists during the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The ride will begin at 8:00am.
The 90-mile ride on the first day will wind through the boroughs of New York, ending in Riverhead. The second day’s ride will journey through the Sandy-ravaged south shore of Long Island before ending at the Montauk Lighthouse.
