Documentary Premiere “Ground Zero Rising: Freedom vs. Fear”

September 1, 2016 @ 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm

A new documentary will give viewers a look inside the redevelopment of the new World Trade Center.

On Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00pm ET/PT, CNBC will premiere Ground Zero Rising: Freedom vs. Fear, a one-hour documentary that tells the story of the revitalization of the 16-acre site. Ground Zero Rising: Freedom vs. Fear will re-air on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 10:00pm ET.

The new One World Trade Center is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Former FBI Special Agent Don Borelli is interviewed about its safety in the film. Borelli says “lone wolf” terrorists present the biggest threat at present, which makes security concerns at the World Trade Center even more difficult to cope with. Borelli says there already have been “lots of credible threats” made on the building. The film will give viewers a glimpse of the World Trade Center Operations Command Center.

Tribute’s own Lee Ielpi, a retired New York City firefighter who lost his son in the attacks, is shown in the film leading a group of tourists around the memorial pools.
