9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Cypress Hills Cemetery 5-K Run through History in honor of fallen NYPD Detective Peter Figoski

The seventh annual Cypress Hills Cemetery 5-K Run through History in honor of fallen NYPD Detective Peter Figoski will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Race-day registration and bib pick-up will be held from 7:15am until 8:45am. The race begins at 9:00am.
To register online before the race costs $35.00 (plus a $4.01 processing fee). To register on race day costs $40.00. T-shirts will be given to the first 250 registrants.
Beneficiaries of funds raised by the run are St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children and the PBA Widows’ and Children’s Fund.
This year, a free kids’ fun run has been added to the day’s events. Kids of all ages are welcome to participate. Remember to register for the kids’ run online.
The challenging and unique 5-K course takes you throughout the roads of the 171-year old cemetery past the final resting places of some of history’s most notable figures such as Jackie Robinson (First man to break Major League Baseball’s color barrier); 1920s and ‘30s movie star Mae West; pianist and composer Ignacy Paderewski; the great jazz composer Eubie Blake; painter Piet Mondrian; and Hiram Cronk (last surviving member of the War of 1812).
