Concert to Build Smart House for Wounded Warrior US Army Specialist Kyle Hockenberry
August 16, 2012 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation & Gary Sinise Foundation present a Concert to Build a Smart House for Wounded Warrior US Army Specialist Kyle Hockenberry
Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band will perform a concert on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 7:00pm at the Marrietta College’s Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.
Tickets prices start $35.00 and rise to $75.00. Tickets are still available. Tickets can be bought online at http://www.supportkyle.com or by calling 800-293-5949 and they are at all local Peoples News locations.
Hockenberry, a 2010 Frontier High School graduate, was injured while on patrol in Afghanistan and suffered the loss of both legs and one arm. The concert is a joint venture of the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.Proceeds from this concert will help to build him a “smart” house, so he can live independently.
According to Bonnie Hockenberry, the soldier’s aunt, organizers looked at the demographics and the amount of money to be raised and considered holding the concert at a venue in a larger city. That was not what Spc. Hockenberry had in mind, however, so Marietta College’s Dyson Baudo Center will host the event.
“Kyle asked that the concert be in his hometown so that people would have an opportunity to share in the festivities surrounding the visit of Sinise,” she said.
