Community evening and chamber concert – Manhattan Youth Downtown Community Center

September 11, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Residents of Lower Manhattan are asked to gather at the Manhattan Youth Downtown Community Center at 6:30pm on Monday, September 11, 2017 to reflect on the community’s experiences and resilience following the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001.

Music will be performed by the Tribeca Chamber Players, who will play Samuel Barber’s Adagio from his String Quartet, Opus 11 and Mendelssohn’s String Quartet #6 in F minor, Op. 80. Music will begin at 7:00pm.

The evening begins at 6:30pm with a chance to meet your neighbours and share memories. Refreshments will be provided by chef David Bouley.

This year Manhattan Youth requests donations for youth programs in Houston and in Puerto Rico, areas impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Manhattan Youth remembers the country’s generosity after the terrorist attacks and when their facilities were damaged by Hurricane Sandy, and wants to help.

For more information, please call the Center at 212-766-1104.
