9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. “Come from Away,” new musical set in Gander on 9/11

The La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego is holding the world premiere of Come from Away, a new musical about the people of the small town of Gander, Nova Scotia hosting more than 6,000 stranded airline passengers on September 11, 2001 after US airspace was closed after the terrorist attacks. Gander has a population of roughly 10,000. While they were overwhelmed by the number of people, they treated the passengers with extraordinary kindness and hospitality.
