9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Ceremony of Remembrance for MIT Police Officer Sean Collier

A ceremony honoring MIT Police Officer Sean Collier will take place on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 9:30am at MIT’s North Court. The ceremony is open to the Institute community.
Officer Collier was killed on April 18, 2013 in a shootout with the alleged Boston Marathon bombers.
The ceremony will include music and remarks from members of the MIT Police Department, politicians, school officials and students, and an MIT professor who is designing a memorial to Officer Collier, who will display a rendering of the future memorial following the ceremony.
