9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Captain Timothy Stackpole Mid-Week Retreat

The FDNY Holy Name Society will be holding their annual Captain Timothy Stackpole Mid-Week Retreat at the Bishop Molloy Retreat House in Jamaica from Tuesday, October 24, 2017 to Thursday, October 26, 2017.
The retreat begins with dinner on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 7:00pm, and ends with breakfast on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Participants may come for a meal, a day, or the entire time
The retreat offers a respite from the stress of everyday life in the peace of a safe and serene environment. Participants are encouraged to rest and find some peace in the presence of God and each other.
Organizers pray that the life of Timothy Stackpole will be a sign of hope to participants in these difficult times. Then-Lieutenant Timothy Stackpole fell through a floor in 1998 while responding to the Waldbaum’s fire. He was terribly injured, with fourth and fifth degree burns over 40% of his body, and was strongly encouraged to retire. He endured grueling rehabilitation and on March 10‚ 2001‚ returned to full duty. He was promoted to Captain on September 6, 2001. Off-duty on September 11, 2001, he responded to the World Trade Center, where he was killed at the age of 42.
