Captain Jason Dahl Dove Race for Youth
June 7, 2014 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
As part of International Migratory Bird Day, the annual Captain Jason Dahl Dove Race for Youth will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00pm.
More than 100 white homing pigeons will be released to raise funds for local charities. These doves will “race” back to their home lofts in Arvada, CO. Prizes are awarded to the sponsors of the winning birds. Individuals can sponsor a dove for a small contribution to The Jason Dahl Scholarship Foundation. This year, there will also be a silent auction for the charity.
Jason Dahl was the Captain of United Flight 93 on 9/11/2001. Jason was a Littleton Ken-Caryl resident and an outstanding member of our local community. The foundation named for him raises money for scholarships at Denver’s Metro State.
This is the 9th year of the Front Range Birding Open House and on average over $10,000 has been raised annually, all of which goes to the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund. Learn more about the Dahl Fund here.
