9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Brooke Jackman Race for Literacy

Help support children’s literacy with the Brooke Jackman Foundation’s 13th annual Race for Literacy, a 5-K run/walk, which will be held this year on Saturday, May 19, 2018. The Run will begin at the Brooke Jackman Reading Garden at the Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Oyster Bay, at 9:30am. The Children’s Fun Run activities will start at 8:45am, with the Fun Run itself at 9:00am sharp.
This fun family day includes yoga stretches, refreshments, face painting, tattoos, yoga, hula hoops, and a ¼-mile Fun Run for kids ages 8 and under, with prizes for all.
To participate in the 5-K Run/Walk will cost $20.00 for those pre-registered by May 13, 2018 or $25.00 on race day. Students under age 18 participate for $10.00. The children’s Fun Run is free. All entrants will receive a high-quality commemorative T-shirt and a water bottle.To register, please click here.
The Brooke Jackman Foundation is a nonprofit organization created in response to the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001, that claimed the life of Brooke Jackman, age 23. The Foundation’s mission is to honor Brooke’s legacy—a deep love of reading and a profound interest in helping children—by helping to create and support programs enhancing the literacy and self esteem of children. Proceeds from the Brooke Jackman Race for Literacy will directly support the Brooke Pack, Project Brooke, and Brooke’s Books projects offered to children in diverse city, agency, and school programs.
