9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Brian Clark, Tower 2 survivor, speaks at Military Appreciation Evening in OK

The public is invited to the Bartlesby Military Appreciation Evening on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Doenges Memorial Stadium. The evening’s events will begin at 6:00pm with music by Olivia Wilt and the Ad Lib Singers and free hot dogs and chips for all attendees. The talk will start at 6:30pm.
Brian G. Clark, a survivor of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, will be the keynote speaker for the evening. Mr. Clark was working on the eighty-fourth floor of Tower 2 of the World Trade Center when hijackers flew United Flight 175 into the tower. Clark’s powerful story has been seen in a number of documentaries about the attacks.
Military personnel and their families are invited to register with the Blue Star Mothers, so they can be recognized at the event. You can register at the stadium before 6:00pm. or e-mail bvlbluestars@yahoo.com.
There may be a firework display, depending on burn ban regulations at the time.
The Blue Star Mothers will collect food donations to ship to our military personnel serving overseas. Bring your donations to the stadium. Items accepted include: peanut butter, beef jerky, Slim Jims, protein bars, granola bars, small cans of tuna, peanuts, dried fruit, single drink mixes, small creamers, sugar packets, Sweet-n-Low, hot cocoa, trail mix, pull-top soups, vegetables and ravioli and cheese and peanut butter crackers.
The Military Appreciation Evening is hosted by Blue Star Mothers, the Bartlesville Ladies Connection, and the American Legion Baseball team.
