June 14, 2019 @ 8:00 am - June 15, 2019 @ 5:00 pm

The 18th annual Brett T. Bailey BTB Mako Rodeo will be held in Brielle, NJ on Friday, June 14, 2019 and Saturday, June 15, 2019.

All boats registered by June 6, 2019 will receive a complimentary bottle of Kraken rum with their boat’s name engraved on the bottle.

There is a $600 entry fee per boat; The fees are split in half — half goes to the foundation and half goes into the winner-take-all pot (largest mako). There will be additional prizes for first, second and third place mako and thresher. Rules, details, and an entry form can be found here.

The BTB Mako Rodeo will work with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Cooperative Shark Tagging Program (CSTP). This program is a collaborative effort between recreational anglers, the commercial fishing industry, and NMFS to study the life history of Atlantic sharks. Tags and information on how you can be part of the program will be available at the Captains’ Meeting. For more information about the CSTP, please visit the NMFS’s website.

Brett T. Bailey loved the water, almost as much as he loved his friends. He was 28 and engaged to be married when he was killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while working as an options broker for Euro Brokers in the World Trade Center.
