Bone marrow drive for Owen Hogan
November 22, 2013 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
There will be a bone marrow drive for Owen Hogan at Friends of Firefighters on Friday, November 22, 2013, from 800am-5:00pm.
2-year-old Owen Hogan, son of FDNY firefighter Tim Hogan of Engine 216, has aplastic anemia, a bone marrow disorder in which bone marrow stops producing blood cells.
Owen has stopped responding to treatments. The next step is a bone marrow transplant, but first, a bone marrow match must be identified. Read Owen’s full story here.
For anyone between 18-55 who is interested all it takes is a simple cheek swab to add yourself to the registry.
