Bone Marrow Drive for Owen Hogan
November 9, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
There will be a bone marrow drive for Owen Hogan on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:00am to 4:00pm at Floral Park Village Hall in Floral Park, Queens.
Owen, the 2-year-old son of FDNY firefighter Tim Hogan, has aplastic anemia, a potentially fatal blood disorder and desperately needs a bone marrow transplant. He has been undergoing blood transfusions at least once a week since April. He also takes medications that seriously weaken his immune system. If a perfect bone marrow donor is found, Owen has a 90% chance of surviving. If an imperfect match is all that can be found, his chances go down to about 40%.
