9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Be the Match End Blood Cancer Walk & Run – Roosevelt Island

The September 11th rescue and recovery worker community is plagued with World Trade Center-related blood cancers – multiple myeloma, leukemia and lymphoma – are epidemic. Help cure blood cancers by walking or running for Be the Match on Sunday, September 29, 2018 on Roosevelt Island.

The event will help add more potential marrow donors to the Be the Match bone marrow registry, help patients with transplant costs, and fund life-saving transplant research—providing cures to more patients.

8:30am – Be the Match registry drive opens
9:15am – marrow/PBSC donor & transplant recipient/patient photo (at stage)
9:30am – welcome program and top fundraising awards
9:45am – Tot Trot
10:00am – 5-K
10:05am – 1-K

Specialty bibs are available for marrow donors, transplant recipients and supporters who are participating in honor or memory of a special person. Pick up your bib at the Be the Match tent in the Event Village.

Please note that there will not be a bag drop at the event. Please leave any items you don’t want to carry in a secure location.
