9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Back in the Day with Mike – Doo Wop Fundraiser for FF Michael Kiefer

The annual Back in the Day with Mike doo wop fundraiser for the FF Michael Kiefer Memorial Fund will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Plattdeutsch Biergarten in Floral Park.
Admission costs $40.00 in advance, which includes 10 raffle tickets. Admission on the day costs $50.00. Youth aged 6 to 20 pay $20.00; children under 6 enter free. Adult tickets include 1 liter of beer and a meal ticket. Funds raised benefit causes dear to Michael’s heart – the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation, the FDNY Fire Family Transport Foundation and the Jack Foley Hospital Fund.
The day’s events will include food, live music from the Wonderous Stories, raffles, face painting, balloon animals and more. Fire Commissioner Dan Nigro, former Commissioner Sal Cassano and PIX11 anchor Sukanya Krishnan will make appearances.

FF Michael Kiefer was 25 and a member of Ladder 132. He had wanted to be an FDNY fireman from the age of 3. In addition, he was a lifeguard and a triathlete, completing a triathlon three days before he was killed. He was last seen headed for the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
