“Anatomy of Terror: From the Death of Bin Laden to the Rise of the Islamic State” – a Discussion with Ali Soufan and Lawrence Wright
May 2, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Fordham University will host a discussion with Ali Soufan and Lawrence Wright on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Fordham’s Pope Auditorium. They will discuss Soufan’s new book, Anatomy of Terror: From the Death of Bin Laden to the Rise of the Islamic State.
In the book, former FBI special agent and author Ali Soufan dissects bin Laden’s brand of jihadi terrorism and its major offshoots, revealing how these organizations were formed, how they operate, their strengths, and ―crucially― their weaknesses. Anatomy of Terror examines the new Islamic radicalism through the eyes of its flag-bearers.
Ali Soufan is the CEO of The Soufan Group and author of The Black Banners: The Inside Story of 9/11 and the War Against al Qaeda. He is a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent who investigated international terrorism cases, and serves as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.
Lawrence Wright is the author of The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11, winner of the Pulitzer Prize. Wright’s latest book is The Terror Years: From al-Qaeda to the Islamic State.
