9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund Great Kindness Challenge – Urbana, OH

This year’s Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund Season for Nonviolence began with the Great Kindness Challenge (GKC) from Monday, January 27, 2020—Friday, January 30, 2020. This bullying-prevention initiative aims to improve school climate and increases student engagement for Pre- K–12 students, and creates a culture of kindness.
Students are encouraged to perform as many acts of kindness as they can throughout the challenge, and throughout the rest of the year.
More than 5,600 students, faculty and staff from the Urbana City Elementary School, Graham Local School District, West Liberty Salem School District, and the Mechanicsburg School District, as well as the Champaign County Library took part in this global event.
Some schools involved extended their week of kindness to a month, and some have committed to practicing kindness throughout the entire school year.

The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund was founded to honor the memory of Alicia Titus, who was killed by terrorists during the attacks of 9/11 while serving as a flight attendant aboard United Airlines Flight 175, the plane that crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund carries on the spirit of Alicia’s life by sponsoring programs for the University and community that promote and support peace.
