9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. “Soundbreaking” ceremony to break ground for tower of windchimes at National Flight 93 Memorial – Stoystown, PA

A Soundbreaking ceremony will be held at 3:30pm on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the entrance to the Flight 93 National Memorial to break ground for the last part of the memorial, the Tower of Voices, a tower containing 40 unique chimes of different pitches to represent the 40 crew members and passengers of United Flight 93 murdered by terrorists on September 11, 2001.
The ceremony will last one hour and will include brief remarks and an audio simulation of the future chimes and a ceremonial breaking of the ground.
Please be aware that the ceremony will take place on a patch of wild ground. Please dress accordingly and wear appropriate footwear for walking on uneven surfaces.
The event will be standing room only for the public and will take place rain or shine, however, seating will be available for those with ADA needs.
No parking is available at the ceremony location. Visitors are asked to park near the Flight 93 Visitor Center and take a shuttle bus to the site of the future chimes. Buses will be available to accommodate wheelchairs. Please arrive with plenty of time to park, shuttle, and walk out to the ceremony site.
Please note that no large bags or backpacks will be allowed in the ceremony area or in the Visitor Center.
