9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. 2018 Transatlantic Boxing Championship – FDNY vs. Irish National Police Service Garda Siochana Boxing Club

The FDNY Boxing Team will take on the Garda Siochana Boxing Club of the Irish National Police Service for the 2018 Transatlantic Championship on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Manhattan’s Terminal 5, which features multiple spacious bars, a ground-floor viewing area, balconies overlooking the ring on two floors, plus a rooftop cigar bar where all the action can be seen on big screens.
General admission costs $30.00 and a VIP ringside seat costs $50.00. Tickets are on sale now here or here. Sales of tickets for groups of 10 or more are available for FDNY members at a 25% discount by calling Bobby McGuire at 917-282-8727 or via email at fdnyboxing@aol.com.
The organizers hope to feature a couple of “grudge” matches during the evening. So if you have a problem with another member and both parties agree to settle it in the ring, the organizers would love to hear from you. Any boxers under 201 lbs. would need to be within 10 lbs. of each other. You would box three 1-minute rounds. Experience is not necessary but they highly recommend that you start training ASAP. If you don’t have a trainer or coach, theirs are available to you at no cost.
As always, proceeds from this event will benefit Building Homes for Heroes. This organization builds mortgage-free, handicap- accessible homes for our veterans returning home with severe injuries.
