9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for Brendan M. “Chiz” Chellis, World Trade Center Survivor

Our good friend, Brendan M. “Chiz” Chellis, 56, died on May 1, 2022 of World Trade Center-related pancreatic cancer, one day after many of his friends attended a pancreatic cancer walk, raising nearly $20,000 for cancer research in his name.
Brendan was very active in the survivor community, was a founder of the WTC Survivors’ Network, and helped and was beloved by survivors of terrorist attacks from around the world. His humor and his kindness are and will continue to be greatly missed by so many.
His wake will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 5:30pm until 9:00pm at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home in Northport, NY. His friends will smile when they hear that Chiz wants attendees to wear Hawaiian shirts to his wake. Mets hats are optional.
Brendan’s funeral will take place at St. Anthony of Padua Church in East Northport, NY at 9:15am on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Please note that Chiz requested formalwear at his funeral — prom or ball gowns and tuxedo, please. Mets hats are optional. His burial will be held afterwards at Northport Rural Cemetery.
