9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Active-duty FDNY EMT Thomas C. Akerberg, Jr., an 18-year veteran of the FDNY, died on February 2, 2021.
EMT Akerberg comes from an FDNY family — his father, Thomas Akerberg, Sr. is retired from E-58, and his brother Eric retired from L-127.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St Joseph’s Church in Kings Park, NY on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 10:30am.
A private burial will follow.
Donations in memory of EMT Akerberg can be made to the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation.
