9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. FDNY Virtual Turkey Trot
November 24, 2020
FDNY Engine 233, Ladder 176 and the Field Comm unit will hold the annual Turkey Trot on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
Due to COVID-19, the Trot, the longest running FDNY fundraiser, will be a virtual run.
Turkey Trot t-shirts and gear will be sold at the Cross Bay Boulevard location for those who wish to come down. Social distancing rules will apply, and all health and safety protocols will be maintained.
Each participant will run the virtual run on his or her own.
Over the years, the money raised from this event goes to charities within the FDNY or to a firefighter’s family dealing with an illness or untimely death. The organizers hope that the 2020 changes won’t affect their ability to continue this tradition!
