9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Wake for retired FDNY Lt. James McGowan, Sr.

Retired FDNY Lt. James McGowan, Sr. has died. He had a long distinguished career in the FDNY, working in Harlem and the South Bronx. He was a valued member of the UFOA Executive Board and also served as President of the New York State Professional Firefighters Association.
His wake will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and again from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY.
His funeral will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak, NY at 10:00am on Thursday, October 24, 2019.
