9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Cello Concert and Discussion with Karim Wasfi

There will be a free cello concert in honor of those affected by the terrorist attacks of February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001 by Iraqi cellist Karim Wasfi at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Wasfi is the former conductor of the Iraqi Symphony Orchestra who played his cello in the streets of Baghdad as an act of resistance. Now he gives site-specific performances at the sites of terrorist attacks.

In addition to the music, Wasfi will discuss how he uses music as counterterrorism.

The concert will take place in the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum’s auditorium on the second floor.
