9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Unveiling of Rockland Gulf War/War on Terror Monument

The Rockland Gulf War/War on Terror Monument will be unveiled on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 12:00pm. The monument overlooks Rockland County’s 9/11 Memorial in Haverstraw Bay Park.
The memorial honors Rockland residents who served in Operation Desert Storm/Shield, the second Gulf War in 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the post-9/11 Afghanistan War.The monument was designed by a group of veterans who fought in those wars.
Especially remembered are the eight residents who have been killed in action: Sergeant Edward H. Bolen, US Army; Staff Sergeant Tatiana Khaghani Dees, US Army; Captain Phillip Esposito, US Army; Seaman Gilbert Fontaine, US Navy; Specialist Justin Garcia US Army; Major Thomas Kennedy US Army; Corporal Manny Lopez US Army; and Corporal Steve Vahaviolos, US Marines.
The speakers for the ceremony will be Marine Corps Lt. General (ret.) Dennis J. Hejlik and Gold Star mother Yolanda Lopez, mother of Corporal Manny Lopez.
