9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Funeral for Retired NYPD Detective Richard J. Mendez

Retired NYPD Detective Richard J. Mendez has died. During his career, among other assignments, he taught at the Police Academy.
A funeral Mass will be said on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 9:45am at Our Lady of Hope R.C. Church in Middle Village.
Interment will follow at Cypress Hills Cemetery.
