Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Annual Lung Cancer Awareness Program: Updates on Research and Clinical Care

In recognition of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, the Perlmutter Cancer Center will address the early detection and treatment of lung cancer and discuss updates from the Lung Cancer Alliance on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan. Patients with lung cancer are invited to participate in an interactive dialogue with experts to show how support groups can help patients cope with practical and emotional concerns.
Lunch will be provided after the program.
This session is led by Robert Cerfolio, MD, MBA, professor and director of clinical thoracic surgery the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and director of Perlmutter Cancer Center’s Lung Cancer Center; Leena Gandhi, MD, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology and director of the Thoracic Medical Oncology Program at Perlmutter Cancer Center; Gaetane Michaud, MD, associate professor in the departments of Medicine and Cardiothoracic Surgery and section chief in the Division of Interventional Pulmonology; and Catherine Paykin, LCSW-R, senior social worker at Perlmutter Cancer Center.
