9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. September 11th Commemoration Ceremony – Naperville, IL

Naperville’ September 11th commemoration ceremony will begin at 6:00pm on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Commander Dan Shanower September 11 Memorial in Naperville.
Carillon music can be heard at the Memorial beginning at 5:30pm; and music from the Naperville Municipal Band will begin at 5:45pm.
The observance will include a 30-minute carillon concert, including In Memoriam, a carillon requiem written to commemorate the terrorist attacks of 2001.
In case of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the Municipal Center.
Commander Dan F. Shanower grew up in Naperville, and is the only local killed in the terrorist attacks. A Navy intelligence officer, he had begun gathering information on the World Trade Center attacks to brief his superiors when hijacked Flight 77 struck the Pentagon, killing him. He was 40.
