Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Birthday celebration for PO Thomas Gorman, PAPD

The annual PO Thomas Gorman Memorial Blood Drive will be held throughout the month of December at New Jersey’s Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. On Tom’s birthday, Tuesday, December 27, 2016, the Center will honor him with special food and giveaways for anyone donating blood that day.
Port Authority Police Officer Thomas Gorman was killed while responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. PO Gorman fervently believed in the importance of giving blood, and was a regular donor. His last blood donation was on September 10, 2001.
Because his birthday was in December, Somerset Medical Center and his mother, Theresa, hold the annual blood drive to honor his memory.
