9/11 Nativity Scene “Pesipio Della Solidarieta” on Display
December 12, 2016 @ 8:00 am - January 7, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
A Nativity scene given to the FDNY by the Naples Chamber of Congress shortly after September 11, 2001 will be on public display at Staten Island’s Casa Belvedere from Monday, December 12, 2016 until Saturday, January 7, 2017.
The 120-piece, 7-foot high Italian créche was given to the New York City Fire Department in December 2001 to honor the people killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and the police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel who responded to the attacks.
The figurines include the Three Kings, who give Jesus three FDNY helmets inscribed with the numbers 9, 11, and 01.
