Children of Abraham Walk – Brooklyn, NY
September 11, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
People of each of the three Abrahamic faith traditions — Christianity, Islam, and Judaism — will observe the fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks by walking together in solidarity in the Children of Abraham Walk, a Brooklyn tradition that began in 2002.
This year, those leading the walk will be youth born around and after September 11, 2001.
The walk on Sunday, September 11, 2016 will last from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
The Children of Abraham Walk will begin at the Dawood Mosque, then proceed to the First Unitarian Congregational Society (at around 4:45pm), Congregation Mount Sinai (at around 5:15pm) and the FDNY Engine 205/Ladder 118 firehouse on Middagh St. (at around 5:45pm).
Walkers will leave the firehouse at roughly 6:15pm, and will proceed across the Brooklyn Bridge.
The Walk will conclude at the Trinity Church Parish Center in Lower Manhattan and walkers will share food and fellowship.
