9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Captain Robert “Dave” Melton of the Kansas City Police Department was killed in the line of duty on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
His funeral will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Children’s Mercy Park.
Parking will be available at the Kansas Speedway.
Captain Melton will be buried immediately after the service at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan.
