Liberty Park Opening

June 29, 2016 @ 11:45 am - 5:00 pm

Liberty Park will open to the public at 11:45am on Wednesday, June 29, 2016.

The new park is situated on top of the World Trade Center Vehicle Security Center on Liberty Street and overlooks the World Trade Center Memorial. It will ultimately connect to Brookfield Place (formerly the World Financial Center) via the Liberty Street pedestrian bridge.

Among its trees is a sapling from the Anne Frank chestnut tree in Amsterdam. Other features include a “living wall” of plants and greenery on the north side of the park.

Construction of St. Nicholas Memorial Shrine is ongoing on the park’s east side. The shrine is due to open in early 2018.
