Play “The Guys” to Benefit the Lt. Joseph G. Leavey Foundation

Based on a true 9/11 story, Anne Nelson’s play The Guys will be performed to benefit the Lt. Joseph G. Leavey Foundation on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 through Friday, January 22, 2016 at 7:30pm, and on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:00pm at New York’s Davenport Theatre on 45th Street.
FDNY Lt. Leavey was 45 on September 11, 2001. During the terrorist attacks on that day, he led his men from Ladder 15 to the 78th floor of the South Tower, one of the impact floors.
The Lt. Joseph G. Leavey Foundation provides two annual scholarships to deserving students to reflect Joe’s love of learning.
The Guys is a fictionalized account of a true story about an FDNY captain seeking assistance from a writer when he is faced with eulogizing 8 of his men, all killed in the September 11th attacks. William Mulligan will play Nick; Renee Claire Bergeron, Joan. Hannah Ryan will direct.
Performances will be held from Wednesday, January 20, 2016 to Friday, January 22, 2016 at 7:30pm, with a matinee on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 2:00pm. All performances will take place at the Davenport Theatre, a former FDNY firehouse.
