Every year, Sean’s family and the Friends of Sean Lugano donate the funds raised to charities that reflect Sean’s love of people, sports and life. This year’s recipient will ALS One, a charity that works for the cure of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that kills nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. As the disease progresses, patients lose the abilities to speak, eat, move and breathe. There is no cure.
