9/11 Tribute Center programs are offered throughout the year. Lectures, educational workshops and support programs are available to unite family members who lost loved ones, survivors, Lower Manhattan residents, rescue and recovery workers and volunteers who assisted in the aftermath of 9/11. Light up Wethersfield on Christmas Eve with the Keane Foundation

Luminarias on Christmas Eve are a 41-year-old tradition in Wethersfield, CT. The special votive candles in sand-lined bags are lit and placed along the edges of properties every Christmas Eve. In many cases, entire Wethersfield neighborhoods display them.
Join the Keane Foundation in this beautiful tradition by getting your Luminaria kits from the Foundation. Kits are available at Wethersfield Travel in Old Wethersfield now until noon on Christmas Eve. To order your kits, please call 860-257-3775 prior to pick-up, and they will be ready when you arrive. Each Luminaria kit costs $1.50, and includes the 14-hour candle, special bag and instructions. All proceeds go to the Keane Foundation 9/11 Memorial Sports Center.
It is recommended the Luminarias be displayed at the end of your yard 6-10 feet apart along the road. Light them at dusk on Christmas Eve and they will glow until Christmas morning.
Richard “Dick” Keane was a devoted family man who was killed during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 while on a business trip to the World Trade Center. His family started the Keane Foundation 9/11 Memorial Sports Center so that the children of Weathersfield could participate in athletic, academic, and social programs with the support and guidance of caring adults.
