Secret Smiles Inc. was originally founded in 1999 in NYC by Meredith Hassett, Kristy Irvine-Ryan and Louise Smith. The friends bought furniture and household necessities for 18 families. On September 11, 2001, Kristy Irvine-Ryan was killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center while working at Sandler O’Neill and Partners in the south tower. Kristy’s sister, Tracy Janess, created Secret Smiles of Dayton in Kristy’s memory. The charity provides underserved children in Dayton with beds and bedding.
