Lone Star Rumble – FDNY Rumblers to ride across US for Hope for the Warriors
June 23, 2015 - July 3, 2015
The FDNY Rumblers, a group of motorcycle-riding firefighters from South Bronx firehouses, will ride more than 3,500 miles this summer to raise funds for Hope for the Warriors®.
The Rumblers include Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans, and firefighters who responded to the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and who worked the recovery effort. They are all from Battalion 14 of the FDNY. Each rider has pledged to raise at least $2,000.00. This is their third annual fundraising ride.
Starting in New York City on June 23, 2015, the Rumblers will ride south, ending on July 3, 2015 back in New York. Among their stops will be Walter Reed Medical Facility in Bethesda, Maryland; the San Antonio Military Medical Center and a stop volunteering at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Dallas.
The last two Rumbles raised more than $50,000. Riders hope to do even better this year.
