Seminar – An Examination of Suicide Attacks in the United States: Comparing al Qaeda and Affiliated Movements and Far-Right Suicide and Non-Suicide Incidents and Perpetrators

The next Friday seminar on terrorism at John Jay College will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. The speaker will be Professor Josh Freilich, who will discuss the topic “An Examination of Suicide Attacks in the United States: Comparing al Qaeda and Affiliated Movements and Far-Right Suicide and Non-Suicide Incidents and Perpetrators.”
Freilich is a professor of criminal justice at John Jay College. He is the creator and co-director of the United States Extremist Crime Database (ECDB) study, which is an open source relational database of violent and financial crimes committed in the US by far-right extremists, al Qaeda–inspired groups, and environmental and animal rights extremists.Professor Freilich is a member of the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START).
